This training is designed to help you confidently include children with a wide range of support needs in recreational and group programs. You’ll gain the tools to adapt activities, build connection, and foster participation for children with:

  • Autism
  • ADHD
  • Down syndrome
  • Sensory Sensitivities or Sensory Processing Disorder
  • Auditory Processing Disorder
  • Learning difficulties or learning disabilities
  • Neurodivergent profiles (including anxiety, dyspraxia, and more)
  • Physical Disabilities

You’ll learn how to create inclusive experiences for children with disabilities using simple, adapted strategies.   • Understand the ADAPTED SKILLS framework and its 13 core concepts to design and deliver inclusive programs.
  • Apply practical strategies for each ADAPTED SKILLS concept to support diverse learner needs.
  • Use the 3 C’s—Cooperation, Comfort, and Communication—to boost engagement and learning.
  • Implement proactive approaches to managing meltdowns and withdrawals, supporting continued participation.
  • Foster positive peer and social interactions within inclusive group settings.
